Guidelines for Occupational Medical Examinations
The Guidelines are accepted procedures of occupational medicine and are in line with the latest developments in the field. Since 1971, the Guidelines have been elaborated and kept up to date by the committee for occupational medicine of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV). They give the occupational health professional a framework for consistent procedures and assessment of results. In the day to day work they have proved to be a reliable aid. All the Guidelines are structured according to a universal concept and offer a reliable basis for systematic, quality-controlled occupational health care.
The Guidelines cover a wide spectrum of workplace health risks. At present there are 42 Guidelines and two appendices on special topics in English (List of Guidelines).
To facilitate the proper carrying out and documentation of medical examinations the Guidelines 1.1-1.3, G 20, G 37 and G 46 are accompanied by printed forms that may be downloaded (see "Forms for download").
